Forum: web Subject: Is Wayback Machine a malicious site crawling with viruses?

Today I entered a dead link in the Wayback Machine and clicked on "Take Me Back", but when I got to the archives in the machine, all of a sudden, I got a message from Norton that said that the Wayback Machine "is a malicious site" and should never be visited. That must mean that the Wayback Machine is crawling with viruses, malware and threats, even though I used an anti-malware to check for malware and have found none. I have a question: if your Wayback Machine has viruses or malware, can you please remove the malware? Thank you.

Your antivirus could be labeling the site as "malicious" simply because it may not be a trusted site. I don't think this means the entire Wayback Machine is malicious, just that there could potentially be malicious or non-trusted sites within it. I don't have much personal knowledge about this, so it would probably help to get a response from someone who knows.
